Surrounded by miles of farmland and a few scattered communities, Kapoho Crater, known locally as Green Mountain, is a major landmark in the area, even though it's highest point is only 110 meters. Geologists estimate its age at between 200 and 400 years old. Technically it is a tuff cone, a volcanic structure with a rim that surrounds a crater.
