akua Name: Magical Figure
Origin: Hawaiian Islands
Artist: Unknown
Description: The original of this figure had human hair and had the distinction of being sold at international auction for $100,000. One eye of mother-of-pearl was also missing in the original. The figure is considered magical because there is a depression at the top of the head in which to place nail parings or other personal links of a victim or patient for magical harm or healing.
