Huri A Urenga Ahu from the base of its hill.

The Moai from the front.

And from the back. The whitish lichen visible here is an important factor in speeding up the erosion of the statues.

Note the slender and seemingly graceful fingers of the hand. ItŐs hard to see, but there are four arms and hands.

A section of the Moai at the base has been falsely enhanced to help bring out the detail of the four hands crossing over the stomach.

Looking across the island from Huri a Urenga in the west to Poike Crater in the far east. Notice how hilly the terrain is.
