THE AMAZING MANABLOC

Author's Note: this was written quite awhile ago, when I was still equating the word "mana" to life energy in order to simplify the introduction of Hawaiian concepts to the general public. However, the data is still valid even though some of it can be found in my book, Earth Energies.

Discovery
The story of the Amazing Manabloc began in 1971 when I returned to the United States from a long sojourn in West Africa. There I had spent a lot of time studying the life force that some Africans call mungo, particularly in regard to its use for healing and ESP. In fact, the study of this force has been a lifelong endeavor, and I have dealt with it in many cultures under many names. However, since I was brought up in the Huna tradition, I have always preferred to call it mana, the Hawaiian word for it.

When I reached the States I came across a book which had just been published, Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain, and in this book there was a chapter on pyramid energy. It fascinated me so much that I began a project lasting several years, during which I experimented with countless varieties of pyramids and other shapes and their energy effects. In 1972, as part of a completely different project, I was studying the works of Wilhelm Reich. It soon became clear that Reich's orgone energy had a lot n common with pyramid energy, and that both had a lot in common with mana. One of the first things that attracted my attention was Reich's report of the dehydration effect of orgone, because I had been achieving the same effects with pyramids. But the first actual experiment had to do with razor blades.

The fact that pyramids could induce a sharpening effect on razor blades was well known and easily demonstrated by that time, so I reasoned that if orgone energy was the same, an orgone device ought to be able to sharpen them, too. This is precisely what occurred when I made my first orgone device, a plastic soap dish lined with aluminum foil. Afterward, with a myriad of different orgone devices, I demonstrated that pyramid energy and orgone were identical, in that devices using the principles of each could produce identical effects. From then on it was just a matter of refinement and learning how to increase the effects.

Experiment
Reich's first orgone device, also called an accumulator or "orraccu," was a simple metal box. Later he found that the intensity of the energy could be increased by lining the outside of the box with some organic material such as cellotex. From this he derived the theory that orgone was slowly absorbed by the organic material, then quickly absorbed and expelled by the metal. Later he found that the energy could be intensified further by adding layers of organic and inorganic material. His more powerful device was a box with twenty layers on all six sides, but for most purposes he used one with three layers. His preferred metal was steel, in the form of plates or steel wool, but he did experiment with copper and aluminum. As organic material he preferred cellotex or wool, but strangely enough, he also found that glass would work. And in one of his books he mentioned the possibility that plastic might also be good.

I decided to use plastic as the inorganic material because it was cheap and available in great variety. Following Reich's theory, I began using plastic boxes lined with aluminum or copper, and they were quite successful. By experiment, I found that the energy passed through a plastic cover, and so the first Manabox was born, a small acrylic plastic box lined on five sides with copper, with a cover. This was convenient to carry and the advantage of allowing one to place containers on top of it. At that time I still thought that the energy had to absorbed by the plastic and expelled outward by the metal. However, one day my youngest son pointed out that he felt more energy benefit from the bottom of the box, where the plastic was lined with copper. When this was confirmed, I had a revelation. Having had some background in electronics, I now realized that what we had was a form of capacitor, and that we were dealing with electric and dielectric effects, not organic and inorganic. With this idea we embarked on a new series of experiments that resulted in the Manaplate, a format even more convenient than the Manabox.

The original Manaplate consisted of a "sandwich" of one sheet of copper between two sheets of acrylic or styrene plastic. Some models consisted of up to four layers or sandwiches. This device was found to radiate energy from both sides, and was the size of a 3" x 5" index card. Actually, we found that the energy effect appeared whenever a metal and an insulator were put together, and the better the insulator, the better the effect. Also, it did not matter whether the metal was exposed or not, but the sandwich made for easier construction and convenience.

Eventually, we found that an extremely thin layer of metal combined with a good insulator would give an excellent energy effect. The next model of Manaplate was a sheet of styrene coated with a very fine film of pure aluminum put on by an industrial misting process. The resulting Manaplate was lightweight, thin, and gave off a very strong field of energy. It was produced in the index-card size as well as a larger plate one foot square. Unfortunately, the process was too expensive to continue, so we looked around for a different solution.

This came in the form of plastic resin, and thus the first Manabloc was born. This was a small plastic pillbox about two inches square, filled with resin in which we embedded a small sheet of copper or aluminum. The energy effect was very good and it was a convenient size, although heavier than the previous Manaplate.

Two more important discoveries led to further improvements. To decorate the top of the Manabloc we used a piece of diffraction grating, also known as "laser foil." This is a very thin sheet of aluminum which has been "grated," or inscribed with 10,000 lines to the square inch or more, and that covered with a very thin sheet of plastic, either clear or in color. Far from being just a decoration, we discovered that it had an energy effect of its own when it was laid over styrene. Around this time we were also experimenting with the energy effect of symbolic patterns.

By symbolic patterns I mean such things as spirals, stars, concentric circles, crosses, and mandalas. One of the most fascinating discoveries is that symbols like these, even when drawn or printed on paper, seem to generate energy, the same energy as pyramids or orgone devices. And they can produce all the same effects. We first used a concentric symbol on the base of the resin Manabloc and it greatly increased the energy output. Next we found that the symbol would still work even if it was covered up.

Combining our discoveries about diffraction grating and symbols with the capacitor effect, we finally came up with the present Amazing Manabloc bioenergizer and biocharger, the most powerful and convenient models to date (1987). The bioenergizer is a flat plate of styrene with diffraction grating on one side, a vinyl backing on the other side, and an amplifying symbol in between. The biocharger is a styrene box in which the top and bottom have been made into two-layer bioenergizers, each with an amplifying symbol.

Effects
1. The first experiments were done with razor blades, and the present Manabloc is exceptionally good at keeping blades of all kinds sharp. In one experiment, a single razor blade was used 800 times before it ceased to cut at all, but 25 to 100 uses for an inexpensive blade is more common. The effect is produced by dehydrating the blade, which helps maintain its sharpness. While a pyramid has to be compass-oriented to achieve the best effect, the Manabloc does not. However, with blades the best results come when the blade edge faces east or west.

2. One of the effects of the Manabloc on liquids is to "mellow" them, I.e., to make them less bitter or sharp tasting. In a comparison test with a six-foot pyramid, the Manabloc achieved the same effect in one minute that it took the pyramid twenty minutes to produce. The Manabloc works very quickly with water (eliminating the chemical taste), coffee or tea, less quickly with wine, brandy, or hard liquor. However, a bottle of cheap brandy left on a Manabloc for three days will begin to taste like the very expensive variety. The Manabloc can be placed under the container, on top of it, or taped to the side. It does not matter whether the class is flat or long-stemmed, or whether or not the container is covered. The effect on carbonated beverages is to make them go flat. The Manabloc will also mellow coffee, tea, or tobacco in the dry state.

3. Obviously the energy of the Manabloc induces a chemical or molecular change in water, but we do not yet know the exact nature of the change. Nevertheless, water that has been "charged" on a Manabloc markedly stimulates the growth and health of plants. If the Manabloc is applied directly to the plant, though, it may tend to dry out and die. A Manabloc taped to the side of an aquarium has doubled the lifespan of certain fish and reduced algae growth. Ill dogs and cats have healed quickly after a period of drinking Manabloc-charged water, and many people have reported that it gives them a tonic effect. While charging certainly alters the water in some remarkable way, we cannot say at this time that the water is purified in any chemically measurable sense.

4. A series of early experiments demonstrated that the Manabloc can revive and maintain the charge in flashlight batteries for longer than usual. This seems to work best when batteries are left of the Manabloc between uses. The experiments indicated the possibility that the Manabloc might convert ambient energy into useable electrical energy, but this is an area requiring much more research. Effects on operating electrical appliances seem to be insignificant, and electrical fields or currents do not seem to affect the operation of the Manabloc.

5. Effects on humans are varied. Nearly everyone can sense the energy emanation from a Manabloc either as a tingle, a current, a pressure, a warmth or a coolness. To test this, slowly pass your palm or fingertips over the Manabloc without touching it, or hold it an inch or two in front of your forehead. The general short-term effect (30 seconds to 20 minutes) on most people is to induce muscular relaxation and a sense of wellbeing. A few people, usually after longer applications, sometimes experience an uncomfortable sense of Òfullness,Ó increased tension, and a slight headache. This is due to unconscious resistance to the relaxation effect, probably for unconscious emotional reasons. In such cases it is best to use the Manabloc sparingly at first. An even fewer number of people do not sense any effect from the Manabloc no matter how long it is applied, but this changes in time. No doubt because of the relaxation effect, the Manabloc is often helpful in reducing or eliminating pain and anxiety, and in speeding up the healing of injuries, particularly bruises and cuts. It is also helpful in opening sinuses and relieving nausea. The Manabloc can be applied by holding it on the area or an inch or two above it.

6. Many experiments have shown the Manabloc to be a great tool for psychic or spiritual development. This is partly due to due to the relaxation effect and partly to the additional bioenergy that it supplies. As an aid to meditation, good results have been obtained by holding the Manabloc on or just above the forehead or the crown of the head while meditating. Many have reported that charging up with the Manabloc increases their telepathic and clairvoyant ability, and also their ability to share healing energy with others. Because of the nature of the diffraction grating, the Manabloc has been used successfully as a concentration point of mandala for meditation. If the Manabloc is placed under the head or pillow at night, it will often induce vivid dreams, but some people find this too stimulating and will have trouble sleeping, as least for the first few nights.

7. For those familiar with the science and art of psychic broadcasting, psychotronics and radionics, the Manabloc, especially the biocharger, can be used as the input, output, or amplifying unit. For more general use, the Manabloc can be used to charge objects with bioenergy. Organic materials (cloth, paper, plastic) and crystals will hold a charge longer than metals. Such charged objects can be useful for healing and vitalizing. To charge them, place on the bioenergizer or inside the biocharger overnight. The Manabloc can also be used to transmit bioenergy to someone at a distance. As unusual as this sounds, it has been demonstrated by many experiments. For instance, if you want to receive an ongoing charge during the day, you can write your signature on a piece of paper (or use a photograph) and place it in or on the Manabloc in the morning before you go out. However, be sure to take it off before you go to sleep. Not only may you have trouble in sleeping the first night or so, but after a couple of days of continuous charge your body will adjust to the new level of energy and you will no longer get the tonic effect. If you want to send bioenergy to another who may need it, use their signature or photo. Note, though, that they may reject the energy if it is not appropriate to their needs, so it would be best to get permission first. If you have a goal that you want to achieve, you can write it on a piece of paper and place it on or in the Manabloc, and the bioenergy will help you achieve it. It will not do it for you, but it will add energy to your own thoughts and actions.
