FOOTPRINTS TRAIL

Trace of a Barefoot Warrior

return to Hawaii Page or Go To Next Picture

Visitors (a.k.a. tourists) often wonder what the Hawaiians wore on their feet as they crossed the lava fields of sharp and brittle rock. While it is know that the Hawaiians did make and use woven sandals for some purposes, this photo clearly indicates that at least one person in this group was going barefoot. Unfortunately, this imprint is eroding badly and will probably disappear in the not too distant future.
